07/11/02 - What the fuck happened!? Good question. Lets just say, my ISP (Worldcom) decided to give me the run around for a month. So, we are back, however, be prepared for some minor down time here and there. We just ordered brand new hardware for this server. Ordered a new Internet connection. And have been working hard on a new interface with lots of new features. So, stay tuned. 04/29/02 - Great news, in honor of Copyright Arbitration Royalty Panel (CARP), I declare May 1st to be National WeenRadio Day. This day, which should be celebrated by listening to WeenRadio during all aspects of your day (work, play, and otherwise) is our way of shedding light on the current issue of an Internet Radio royal fee. While most internet radio stations will turn themselves off on Wednesday to protest this proposed fee, we at WeenRadio have decided to celebrate internet radio instead. So, for the festivities we will double our normal listening slots and also play lots of rare waste. We will also play all ween's albums in the their entirety through out the day. Click here to see all the songs added in the past week ... 02/11/02 - For thoughs of you who missed the last news letter, you can read it here. 01/13/02 - Looking through my site I noticed I posted this show on weenradio for people to download, but never really mentioned it anywhere ... so, if you like, feel free to download. 08-04-01 Wellfleet Beachcomber, Cape Cod, MA 12/28/01 - I was fucking around programming and made a small Toolbar for Internet Explorer. It has a button to instantly connect to WeenRadio (this requires real player) and it has a dynamic list of Ween Web Site links. If you are interested in this application, you can beta test it. The setup doesnt work on all PCs yet for some reason. Download it here: Setup.zip. Email me if it works and email me if it doesnt work. Email me website additions too. 12/26/01 - Hola and holy shit. It has been awhile. Well, As many of you know, weenradio had a huge server melt down last month that kept up in limbo for weeks. Things still are not 100% back to normal, but I see the light finally. The audio should be up all the time now. Some shows are missing from the hard drive crash, but I'll have them back in the database soon enough. Bottom line around here, we need a new server that has some balls. This piece of shit server just can't hack it now that it over heated once. I'll be buying a new box sometime in march. We have lots of new features we will be rolling out in the spring to coincide with Ween's next official release. WeenRadio will once again be a premier site on the net. Also, sign up for the newsletter, #4 will hit the streets some time next week with the continuation of the buffalo show. 11/21/01 - Wow, a lot of time has passed since my last news. Ironically, you'd think I'd have lots to talk about. Alas, I don't. Some quick info: You all should know that Ween is releasing a Live CD this holiday season through its website. Kind of an experimental process to see if this distribution method is viable. You can click on over to ween's merchandise site to pre-order this gem. There will be a limited pressing on this, so order fast to guarantee yourself a copy. Its like having a piece of WeenRadio for your car cd player. Also, last month I sent out newsletter number 3, you can read it here if you want. 10/01/01 - Ok, here is the primary details of the God Ween Satan Live Broadcast - tune in on this Friday (10/5/01) at 9:00 pm EST, then again Wednesday 9:00pm EST, then again next Friday 9:00 pm EST. 09/19/01 - Awesome news for all you God Ween Satan fans out there ... in fact for any fan. This past Weekend there was a special concert recorded specifically for WeenRadio ... Ween in all their glory returned to 1991 to give the performance many of you only dreamed of. Ween performed the entire GWS album from start to finish. Stay tuned for the date of when we will broadcast this to you all. I have a brown version of Red Hot Momma covered by the Sound Scientists with Dean Ween on lead and special guest keyboardist Bernie Worrell of P-Funk and Talking Heads fame. Click here to download!. 07/04/01 - More info on the July 28th show sent to me from eli: Ween, Sound Scientists, Wineskin, i am, Bluegrass boys, Matt Taylor, and many more tba. this is official ... we are only interested in attracting serious music lovers to this show. directions will be released shortly, but we can tell you that the location is on Rt. 32 (River Road) in Kintnersville, Pennsylvania about 30 minues north of New Hope (Ween's hood) right on the Delaware River on 265 acres of unbelievable landscape. The site is easily accessible from Rt.78 (about 15 minutes south) and Rt.95 (about 35 minutes north). There will be CAMPING allowed IN THE SHOW...you can set up your tents right there. the location is less than a hundred feet from the river, and there is volleyball, etc..there will be food and beverages sold to support the local volunteer fire company, and free water available. The music is scheduled to begin promptly at 4 pm, and will be done by 12 midnnight, but the campers don't have to leave until noon the next day. Acoustic guitars and drums for drum circles are welcome for the rest of the evening...this should be a lot of fun. come early, you never know how many people are going to show up for this. there will NOT be tickets available. the cost of the show will be released shortly, but i can tell you that it will NOT be more than $20, CAMPING INCLUDED. any other questions, any volunteers or EMT's that would be willing to be a part of this show (we welcome your help) please contact us at soundscientists@home.com. 07/04/01 - Here is some breaking news, I have a couple comfirmed tour dates. First, Ween will be returning to Cape Cod this August 3rd and 4th to play the Wellfleet again. This should be a blast. Hope to see you there. In other tour news, Ween will be headlining an outdoor party in a field outside of New Hope on July 28th. Many local bands will be openning and I'll list them as soon as they are all comfirmed. Sound Scientists will definately be there. The party starts at 4pm and ends 12pm the next day (seriously). People are encouraged to bring tents and camp out. The location will be posted here as soon as everything is confirmed and locked down. You can swim, play volleyball and food will be for sale by the local volunteer fire department. 06/04/01 - Added the banners people have sent me over the last two months! I'm gonna start to retire some of the older banners soon. If you have one of the the older banners on the site and want to replace it with something fresh, feel free to send me a new one! Check the tour section for more info. I've been getting way to busy at my real job that weenradio.com has not been getting the updates I'd like it to. So, I have come up with two possible solutions. Solution 1: Weenradio.com is seeking a super fan to perform daily to weekly updates to the site. The pay is little to none. However, you'll be making as much as the boss. If you feel you qualify to update weenradio, then send me an email and tell me why. Solution 2: If one of you ween fans happens to work at a VC firm and want to fund my company (InQuest Technologies, Inc.), I will likely be able to hire more people to finish all my products for me, thus allows me to spend more time updating weenradio. So, if you are a VC, work for a VC, or even know a VC and want to look into funding InQuest, email me and I'll send you off a business plan. 05/06/01 - Well, I was away for two weeks and come back to find weenradio all fucked up ... Should be all fixed now ... if not, email me ... 04/10/01 - Ween and WeenRadio are discussed on AudioFile this week. You can tune in on cable, or watch the segment online in a week or so. So, I finished a major chunk of programming for this. So, i will likely have requests back online in the next couple of days. The new system I made will allow for all kinds of Programming possibilities. So, look for lots of new features soon. 03/28/01 - I just got back from seeing Ween the past three days. It was a great time. For those of you that don't know already, Glenn McClelland has departed from Ween. So, live Ween is currently a four piece unit. So, I looked around and decided to build my own News Reader for WeenRadio. So, you can all watch it grow - Here it is: WeenRadio's AMW NewsReader. I need to make it be able to post message and hopefully make it show the messages in a nice threaded fashion. Got a couple more shows today, I'll post them up tomorrow. 02/09/01 - Added the two Seattle Shows (6-23, 6-24) from 2000. 02/08/01 - This is not quite ween news. But, Pat Frey (who runs Ween Merchandise site), sent me this great CD of old New Hope/Trenton stuff. It gives you a piece of history to hear what Ween heard when they first started making music. William Tucker, Andrew Weiss, Sim Cain, etc play on these tracks. Names you most likely know if you've been following Ween. So, go here to listen to these classics. 02/07/01 - Added the 12-30-2000 New Hope show (well, some of it). Also put up a couple shows from the 2000 European tour. I've had these sittting around for sometime, so I added them as well: Various Live Soundboard tracks from the Chocolate & Cheese Tour and the 12 Golden Country Greats Tour. You can also use weenradio to read the your daily news headlines regarding digitial music. It also has a feed of "cool sites", not sure if they are yet. This is just something I put up for the hell of it. Read them here. 02/06/01 - Added the Wellfleet, MA show from 2000. Also wanted to recommend to you to sign up for the newsletter if you haven't done so already. The first letter will come out with in a week or so. It will announce the official mini-tour dates and venues. 02/04/01 - I've decided to set up a donation button via PayPal. You can at anytime you feel you want to, send me some cash. We feel this is a good way for people to thank us for this site. I wont mind if you don't donate, but, if you'd like to, just click on the PayPal button. In other news, you can likely expect at least 1 if not more of the next 10 shows to be broadcast live. We are currenyly working on the feasibility of broadcasting the Boston date. 01/30/01 - Few new things going on here. First, we now have an upload area for you all to upload MP3 to us. The FTP mirrors will get accounts so they can download the files to their sites. You can read all about the upload area by clicking on the Upload MP3 menu on the left. I added three new shows to the playlist. A super old show form 1991. 11/1/91 - Eindhoven. This show is currently a weenradio exclusive. Ripped straight from Mickey's soundboard tape into crappy real audio then converted to shittier mp3. It actually sounds pretty good for the proccess it went through. The show has a great setlist and you should check it out. The second show added was the Ft Lauderdale, Florida show from 2000. This show sounds great. It ends with a wonderful song that should have been poopship, but turned out to be Gener's lament. Take a listen when you can, its a wonder 20 minutes of improv. The third show added was the most recently played show. The Asbury Park show from 1/2/01. This show has a fantastic setlist. Ween played some tracks they haven't played in sometime. Check out Goin gets tough, I was nothing, Concert is over, and Vallejo as soon as you can. Not to mention the show's recording sounds wonderful too. 01/23/01 - WeenRadio back up. Unfortunately we were down for almost 24 hours. Some jack ass hit a pole with my T1 on it and disconnected me from the world. Everything seems to be ok now. 01/22/01 - WeenRadio now has CHAT!. A lot of people have emailed me asking to put up a Chat page for listeners. Well, here it is. Its a fully compliant IRC server too. So, you can use your existing IRC client (like mIRC) if you want. If you don't know anything about IRC, just use the JAVA client I put up. It should get you right in with no problem. Click here to start chatting away. The chat server supports NickServ, so you can all register your Nicks to stop people from using them. You can even create your own Private Rooms if you want. Let me know how its working out. Keep in mind that with any great thing, it will take a while for people to start showing up in bulk. So, don't be surprised if you pop in to chat and you are the only one there. 01/18/01 - WeenRadio now has 2 Stations to choose from. The second station broadcasts at 56 kbps 22Hz Stereo for those with cable modems and such. It currently does not support requests. I will be playing complete shows on this station for a while. There is also a real audio server pumping WeenRadio that I am experimenting with. I'll let you know that address sometime in the future. 01/16/01 - Well, now we have a news section! Ween has also done a new song for Nickelodeon's Spongebob Squarepants and will be airing on February 10. The song is entitled "Loop De Loop". It'll be on twice that day, at 10am and 8pm.
